What we're actually listening for

When we speak to a sales candidate, we're not ticking boxes on a competency framework. We're listening. Properly.

Can they actually hold a conversation? Not recite a script. Not reel off buzzwords. Actually talk to another human being, ask a question, listen to the answer and respond like a normal person. You'd be amazed how many "experienced" salespeople can't do this.

What are their real numbers? "Exceeded target" means nothing. What was the target? What did they actually hit? How many calls were they making? What was their conversion rate? How many deals did they close? If they can talk specifics, they've probably done it. If they go vague and start saying things like "I was more of a strategic role," run.

How do they handle a bad week? Everyone has them. The month where nothing lands, the pipeline dries up, the phone stops ringing. What did they do? Did they double down on activity or did they start "focusing on admin"? This question tells us everything about whether someone will last past the probation period.

Would you actually buy from them? Honestly. If this person called you out of the blue and tried to book a meeting, would you give them 10 minutes? If we wouldn't, we don't send them to you.

Q: How much do you charge?

A: 15% of the candidate's basic salary. That's the basic. Not the OTE. Not the commission. Not the bonus. If you're hiring a BDM on £30k basic, your fee is £4,500. Simple.

Q: How fast can you find someone?

A: Appointment setters and SDRs - usually a shortlist within 5-7 working days. BDMs and Account Managers - 1-2 weeks. Senior hires - 2-4 weeks. We don't rush for the sake of speed, but we don't mess about either.

Q: Do you do remote roles?

A: Yep. A huge chunk of B2B sales roles are remote or hybrid now. We recruit nationally for those.

Q: What if we don't like any of the candidates?

A: Then we go again. We'd rather keep searching than push someone through who isn't right. But honestly? If we've done the brief properly, the shortlist is usually strong. We don't send filler.

Q: Can you recruit temps or contractors?

A: Our main focus is permanent hires, but we can help with temp and contract sales roles too. Just ask.

Q: What makes you different from every other sales recruitment agency?
